Gen ATM NGK 2.0 · ATM Management Solution

The estate, awake.

Every terminal driven, every cassette counted, every journal line searchable — from one console, in English and Arabic, inside your own data centre.

Act I · The wall

One wall for the whole estate.

Terminals arrive as tiles. Status comes from XFS at device level, not from a ping — so a terminal that is reachable but cannot dispense reads as out of service, which is what the branch manager actually needs to know.

In service Threshold reached Out of service Supervisor mode

NDC, driven as a state machine.

Screen flows, keys, timers and device commands are configuration, not code. The same state machine runs an NCR withdrawal and a GRG deposit; the difference is a profile, so adding a model to the estate is a configuration task rather than a release.

Two vendors, one behaviour

NCR and GRG terminals are driven from the same engine with vendor profiles for device capability, EJ format and cassette layout. Withdrawal, depositor and recycler units are all first-class.

  • NDC over TCP/TLS, state-machine execution, supervisor mode
  • Configurable screen flows in English and Arabic, per terminal group
  • Parameter and configuration download; software distribution by group
  • One provisioned dispense currency per ATM — mixed-currency dispense is disabled by design

Act III · Cash

Cassettes you can see before they run dry.

Every cassette reports currency, denomination and level. Thresholds raise, route and escalate on their own — replenishment is recognised automatically, so the count you are looking at is the count in the machine.

ATM-1042 · Sana'a Main

Threshold
C1 · USD 1000 0 %
C2 · USD 500 0 %
C3 · USD 250 0 %
R1 · recycler 0 %
D1 · deposit bin 0 %

Marker on each track is the configured threshold. Levels below it raise an alert against the SLA clock; deposit bins escalate on fill, not on empty.

Counted, not estimated

Cash management works from the terminal's own device counters, reconciled against journal events. Replenishment recognition closes the loop, so a cassette swap does not leave the console reporting yesterday's level.

  • Per-cassette currency, denomination and threshold across withdrawal, depositor and recycler units
  • Replenishment recognition and reconciliation against the electronic journal
  • Forecast of time-to-empty per cassette from recent dispense rate
  • Deposit bin fill escalation with its own severity and routing

The electronic journal, centrally searchable.

Journals synchronise from every terminal into one store. Search by card, by terminal, by text, by window — a disputed withdrawal is a query, not a site visit.

EJ TAIL · ESTATE Streaming

Every line kept, every line findable

EJ capture runs continuously and independently of the transaction path, so a terminal that loses its link still returns a complete journal when it comes back.

Act V · The path

Where a withdrawal actually goes.

Phase 1 is ON-US: the ATM Service drives the terminal, the card management system validates the card and the PIN inside the HSM, the issuance route applies risk and AML rules, and the core banking system authorizes and posts.

ATM NDC · NCR / GRG Gen ATM Service state engine · EJ CARD PRIME D 3.0 status · limits · PIN T-NET Issuance Route ISO 8583 · risk · AML Core Banking authorize · post
1Cardholder transacts; the ATM sends the NDC request to the Gen ATM Service.
2ATM Service asks CARD PRIME D 3.0 to validate card status, limits and PIN — PIN verification happens inside the HSM.
3The authorized request passes to the T-NET Issuance Route, where risk and AML screening apply.
4The Issuance Route sends the financial message to the core banking system for balance check and posting.
5The response returns along the chain: the ATM dispenses, accepts the deposit or prints; the journal records it; SMS or e-mail advice goes out.

Phase 2 · OFF-US incoming

Other issuers on your ATMs

Scheme cards arrive over the certified ISO 8583 link. The issuance route resolves the BIN, applies risk and AML rules, and the transaction is acquired on your estate with clearing and settlement records generated behind it.

Your cardholders anywhere

The ATM Service forwards the authorization straight to the issuance route, which performs the BIN check, applies scheme FX and AML screening and sends ISO 8583 to the scheme — with a lateral consultation to the CMS for cardholder data and controls, and reversal on timeout.

Act VI · Escalation

An alert that goes somewhere.

Rules carry severity, a route and an escalation clock. Nothing sits in a queue waiting to be noticed.

SEV-1 Terminal out of service · dispenser fault · whole-branch outage page on-call · 15 min
SEV-2 Cassette below threshold · deposit bin near full · EJ gap detected route to cash ops · 1 h
SEV-3 Printer low · reader retries rising · configuration drift daily queue
SEV-4 Informational · supervisor entry · scheduled replenishment logged report pack

Severities, routes and clocks are configuration per institution and region. Availability is measured excluding planned maintenance, against a 99.9% platform target.

The specification

Six things it does, properly.

ATM driving

NDC-based driving with state-machine execution, configurable English and Arabic screen flows, supervisor operations, and parameter and configuration download to the terminal.

ATM Service

Handles ON-US continuation to the card management system, forwards OFF-US outgoing authorizations to the issuance switch, and consults the CMS laterally for cardholder data, card status and per-channel controls.

Estate management

Terminal master data, grouping by region and branch, in and out-of-service control, and distribution of software and configuration across the estate.

Device & cash monitoring

XFS-level status for every device, with per-cassette currency, denomination and thresholds across withdrawal, depositor and recycler units.

Electronic journal

EJ synchronisation from the terminal, central text and card search, retention policy, and automatic recognition of replenishment events.

Alerts, SLA & reports

Threshold and event rules with severity, routing and escalation; availability measured excluding planned maintenance; a scheduled report pack on top.

The suite

One vendor across ATM, card and switch.

Gen ATM NGK 2.0 is one of three products delivered as a single programme. One data model across the three means no finger-pointing between vendors at two in the morning.
